How to Write a successful call to action

It is not enough to write an engaging and captivating blog or social media post. How you end your post is just as important as how you start a post. If you don’t have a CTA, you will lose the chance to engage with your audience and to hook them up with your other campaigns. Writing a can effective CTA helps you get a high conversion rate.

In marketing, CTA is a part of your advertisement that invites your target audience to take the desired action. Having an effective call-to-action at the end of your post gives your audience a chance to see what to do next after reading your post. Depending on your goal, CTA should tie in everything you have talked about in your post.  This should be enough to give your audience a direction and encourage them to take the next steps to engage with you.

Here are some ways on how to write an effective CTA that will give you a high conversion rate.

HOW TO WRITE AN EFFECTIVE CALL TO ACTION (CTA) THAT GIVES YOU A HIGH CONVERSION RATE

DEFINE THE PURPOSE AND GOAL OF YOUR MESSAGE

Effective Call to Action

In writing an effective Call to Action (CTA), you should establish what your goal is or what result you want to achieve from your CTA. It’s important to know your purpose, for example:

  • Get more leads?
  • Promote your on-going campaign?
  • Drive traffic on your website?

Knowing this will help you write a CTA and it will be easier to send the message across your target audience.

USE A STRONG COMMAND ACTION VERBS

You should always have a concise CTA in other words, make it clear with your target audience on what action you want them to take. For instance, use strong command verbs.

  • If you want them to connect with you, use FOLLOW US and link your social media
  • Moreover, if you want them to contact you, use CONTACT US that redirects to your contact page
  • To encourage them to join your program and be a part of the newsletter, use REGISTER HERE, or SIGN UP HERE

You may not get a good click-through rate if your CTA is not direct and straight to the point. That is to say, always consider being precise when writing your CTA. Check out some great examples here!

PROVIDING VALUE TO YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE HELPS YOU GET A HIGH CONVERSION RATE

Once you have successfully defined your purpose and use a clear command verb on your CTA, what’s it in for your audience? Why should they subscribe to you? Why should they sign up to your email list? Therefore, in writing an effective CTA, you must let your target audience know the VALUE that they will be getting when they sign up, or when they respond to your CTA.

For example, an effective call-to-action (CTA) consists of:

  • CONTACT US today to get your FREE website consultation
  • SIGN UP on our mailing list to receive daily digital marketing tips
  • SUBSCRIBE TO OUR MAILING LIST and get 15% discount

This is an effective CTA, in other words, you should always clearly state what action you want your audience to take and provide them with the value they will be getting. Moreover, be sure to put links on your CTA. For instance, when you click here, it should redirect to a link.

In conclusion, having an effective call with these steps will help you get a high conversion rate.
